 The farm hotel is an estate in the countryside, in harmony with nature, in an area of absolute quiet.  The entrance to the hotel, a few meters from the parking in the Hall, takes to the reception and the restaurant, the rooms are located around the main building.  

The accommodation is limited to a restricted number of guests, indispensable for ensuring privacy and quiet. It is composed of 14 rooms with furniture, treated to ensure comfort, silence and privacy, equipped with bathroom and air conditioning.

Among the services offered particular mention must be made at the restaurant, which is specialised in the preparation of typical dishes and attentive to the particular needs of the guests of the hotel.

We tried the agriturismo Desole in May 2009 and it convinced us, its location is perfect in terms of logistical and environmental.

It is located at the 15th km of the first stage of the Transardinia trail on road the track from Olbia to Monti, but it is perfect for who arrives the night before the departure day.  Rest optimally and enjoy traditional Sardinian cuisine interpreted with a modern twist by the Cook of the farmhouse. You will be surrounded by a beautiful wood of Oaks enjoying the singing cicadas and crickets, do you want more?

First Stage Mamone.


After 70 kilometres of the first stage, the warm welcoming of the farmhouse Ertila, Mamone

Who has already ridden the Transardinia cannot forget the farmhouse Ertila and the warmth welcome of the his patron , Giuseppe Demurtas, Pigotzi for friends. His catchphrase roba grossa ("big stuff") will accompany us throughout the Transardinia. In his Farmhouse, at 950 m altitude, facing Monte Albo, You will most likely arrive in Mamone exhausted and cold, after the last long climb trough the forest of Crastazza, but once inside the farmhouse, in front of the fireplace and a good glass of red wine's you'll come back to your senses and you'll be ready to experience the genuine hospitality of Sardinia. The time for a hot shower and dinner is served. The starters are a wonder: hams, sausages and cheese, and many other great tasting flavours. Then, the home made pastas straight from most genuine barbagia cuisine tradition: maccarrones de busa or de bocciu, or some other invention of Cook's family, to be followed by the exceptional roasts for those who still can eat and, finally, the seadas, and distillates, Myrtle, and other special essences, like Pompia. Pigotzi and his natural sympathy will set then the athmosphere for a unforgettable dinner. Pigotzi and his family run the farm, which also includes the breeding of horses, sheep, pigs and other yard animals, the morning you may wake up with the tinkling of the flock ready to be milked. You can taste the breakfast milk after milking, and just made ricotta, accompanied by good honey, and joddu (yoghurt) and Sardinian biscuits with homemade jams. What about the nature around the farm, really spectacular forests dotted with monumental granite rocks, endless views over the Valley of Bitti and mount Albo, vast oak forests interrupted by mountain pastures, whose herbs they feel in the air we breath through wide opened nostrils.At this point getting back on the road is almost a sin and you would want to take another few days of relaxation, Sardinian cuisine and "big stuff"!

The Second Stage, Oliena.


After two days of wild we stop at Cikappa di Oliena.


The Hotel Restaurant Bar Pizzeria CiKappa (from the name of Cenceddu and Killeddu) is located in the historical centre of Oliena, gateway to the Gennargentu natural park, about 20 minutes from the sea.


The three-star Hotel has simple but comfortable rooms with air conditioning and TV.(remember to ask the internal ones, more silent)

Transardinia 2004. Day 4. Camino dell'agriturismo di Desulo...spento.

Mario is truly a former shepherd, after many years of working with the flocks around the island, he sold the sheep and he built his farmhouse, continues however to raise goats, pigs, wild seeds and to produce excellent honey. He is a reservated person , but if at ease, opens up and becomes an excellent conversationalist. Upon our arrival we sit in front of the fireplace and there we wont raise until after dinner  

The dinner is good, ravioli and wild pork chops grilled, exquisite, washed down with Ogliastra's robust, dense red wine .

Fifth stage Seui


After a day of ups and downs we stop for the night in a traditional Sardinian mountain country     

Bed and Breakfast Ponti' bocci in Seui.

The antica locanda del Carabiniere, an old barracks became a small hotel.
